Outdoor Learning Space

At Delany College we have a proud tradition of sporting success and offer a range of competitive and recreational sports and activities to cater for students' interests and abilities.

Our outdoor education program provides opportunities for students to build self-esteem and develop team-building and leadership skills in an environment outside the classroom. These activities include:

  • Rugby League
  • Touch Football
  • Oztag
  • Netball
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Soccer
  • Athletics
  • Swimming
  • Rock and water
  • Cross-Country
  • Dance
  • Chess
  • Golf
  • Tai Chi
  • Yoga
  • Volleybal
  • Softball
  • Rock climbing

These sports change from season to season and year to year, and we endeavour to ensure that each child has a go at their favourites.

Representative Sport

The Parramatta Diocese Secondary Schools Sports Council (PDSSSC) provides the avenue for students across the diocese to experience most individual and team sports. It also gives students, depending on their ability, the chance to play in competition against other schools in the diocese during the weekly inter-school sports afternoon or to trial for PDSSSC teams/squads to compete in NSW Combined Colleges events against other Catholic schools students across NSW.

From these events there is also the opportunity for our talented athletes to compete at NSW All Schools, alongside their state and independent school peers. Further is the opportunity to represent New South Wales All Schools at School Sport Australia events across Australia.
